Two important items of note this week:
1) His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be giving a free public talk in Washington, DC, on Saturday, July 9th. His talk is part of a historic “World Peace Event” at the U.S. Capitol (West Lawn) which begins at 9:30 am that day. For more information, visit this website.
2) The 12th Sakhyadhita International Biennial Conference on Buddhist Women is happening right now in Thailand. The theme this year is “Leading to Liberation,” and you can keep up with the happenings at the event on this official blog (there are some nice videos and photos there as well).
